Hi there!
I'm Sascha Maslowski, a digital artist turned hobby photographer based in Dortmund, Germany.
My creative journey started over two decades ago in the digital art communities of the early 2000s. You know, those Photoshop forums where artists would compete in signature banner battles and constantly try to one-up each other's designs. I spent years in that underground GFX scene crafting forum signatures, turning stock images into surreal compositions, and entering weekly design challenges. We learned to tell complete stories in a tiny 500×150 pixel canvas, obsessing over every texture, blend mode, and lighting effect.
These days, I bring all of that into photography. With over fifteen years of shooting cosplay, I combine two decades of digital art experience with what I've learned behind the camera. And at the heart of it all is still the same love for Japanese pop culture that got me started.
My background in digital art lets me see past the viewfinder and picture the final image before I even take the shot. It's the same creative process I used when I'd visualize complete scenes before touching a single layer in Photoshop. The canvas just changed.
My work goes beyond just documenting a costume. I want every image to pull viewers into fantastical worlds where their favorite characters come to life. Years of building those worlds pixel by pixel shaped how I see things now. I just do it through a lens instead.
